Puglianelli, 2024.

As a continuation of the Canopiocchi su ceramica project involving vernacular subjects, my kind followers can pre-order ceramic tiles (15×10 cm) or/and  the drawings shown below by sending me the corresponding reference numbers.
The subject of this series is the popular carachter of Pulcinella (Punchinello) from the Neapolitan glove puppets theatre (please refer to Bruno Leone‘s Casa delle Guarattelle and to the World Enciclopedia of Puppetry Arts article).

Note: you won’t have failed to notice the play on words between “Pulcinella” and “Puglianella”, which aims to desacralize this almost mythological character, while taking artistic responsibility for the desecration committed.

I completed (June 18) 104 sketches, following the venerable examples of Giandomenico Tiepolo and Mimmo Paladino Ponchinello drawings, and I am continuing further up to  200 (September 19).

The price of the each tile is 25 € (shipment fee not included); the original drawing can be bought separately, also for 25 €.
The original drawings marked by a X have been sold and transferred on ceramics, but I keep the right to further reproduce them.
